INSPIRING WOMEN

The WI plays a unique role in providing women with social activities and educational opportunities, the chance to build new skills and for those who wish to, the chance to campaign on issues that matter to them and their community

The WI in Bluntisham and Colne is a group of almost 40 women who meet once a month for a bit of ‘me time’. You don’t have to be old to join us and you don’t have to make jam. In fact I have never made jam in my life, but joining the WI has given me the opportunity to learn lots of new things. We currently meet at the Colne Village Hall on the first Thursday of each month at 7.30pm. Beyond the village the WI Federation Centre in Huntingdon regularly has additional activities and outings on offer which are inexpensive and a great opportunity to try new things.
All WI members get a magazine through the post every 5 weeks or so which keeps you updated on what’s going on nationally. I feel it gives me a sense of belonging to something larger than just the local scene.
So if you think you’d like to dip your toe in the water, meet some new people, or just get out one evening a month to spend quality time on yourself, get in touch with Joy
